  	G. C. Fess, Retired News Printer, Dies Gerald C. Fess, 64, of 840 W. Market St., veteran linotype operator in The Lima News composing room, died at 10 p.m. Sunday in his home after an illness of several years. Mr. Fess, a native of Waynesfield, received his journeyman rating as a linotype operator in September, 1911, and served at both the Lima Republican Gazette and The Lima News. He had been with The News more than 40 years before retiring in 1952. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church and the Lima Typographical Union. Surviving are his widow, Blanche; a daughter, Mrs. Vaughn Exline, 206 S. Glenwood Ave.; two granddaughters; his mother, Mrs. Inez Fess, Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Edward Murdock, Long Beach, Calif., and a brother, Guy Fess, Altadena, Calif. The body will remain in the Davis-Miller & Son Funeral Home for services at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cathedral Chapel. The Rev. Philip Sorce will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
