  	Masonic Funeral for Roy Watkins, Fallon Engineer Fallon -- A Masonic funeral was held here Monday for Roy Watkins, 73, who died Friday en route from his home to a local hospital. Watkins, an engineering, business management and military consultant and a magician, had two terms of residence in Fallon. He first came here in 1947 after retiring as manager of Personalized Business Engineers. During this retirement time he served as president of the Churchill County Farm Bureau and ran a string of dairy cows. He also performed as a magician professionally. Leaving retirement in 1950, he became industrial consultant at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and was a leader in the devlopment of the titanium industry. From Dayton he went to Los Angeles in 1955 to serve with the Air Material Command of the U.S. Air Force. Retiring again in 1965, he returned to FAllon to renovate the old Alcorn Ranch in the Sheckler District. Born March 20, 1895, in Eldora, Iowa, he took his bachelor of science in engineering degree from Iowa State College and his master of science degree from Columbia University in New York, after he won a degree in business administration from the University of California in Berkeley. He was a U.S. Navy pilot in World War I. After receiving his business administration degree, he served as city manager in Pittsburg, California before joining Lockheed Aircraft Corp. He rose to be senior production engineer. He joined American Machine Company as general works manager in 1940, and in 1941 became assistant president and general manager of Merz Engineering Company. Later he held executive posts with Dodge-Chicago Corp. and Howard Aircraft Corp. He was consultant from 1940 to 1944 to Gen. William Knudson on evaluating production capabilities of industries for defense mobilization. He joined Personalized Business Engineers in 1944. Watkins was a member of Churchill Lodge No. 26 F&AM Scottish Rite Bodies of Nevada, Kerak Shrine Temple, The Navy League, The American Legion and the Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Velma, of Fallon; a son, Robert Watkins of Big Pine, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs Geraldine Paulsen of Beaverton, Ore.; six grandchildren; a brother, Ray of Florida and a sister, Leota Lehmann of Sacramento, Calif.
